A former Real Madrid president, Jorge Valdano, has questioned the value of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid after their 1-1 draw with rivals, Atletico Madrid.
Real were held to a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu on Sunday night, after Antoine Griezmann canceled out Cristiano Ronaldo’s 53rd-minute opener.
Bale provided the assist for Ronaldo’s 40th goal of the season but was not spared from Valdano’s hot tongue.
“Nothing that Bale does is worth €100million and he has only the number he plays with on his shirt,” Valdano told El Transistor.
After making a blistering start to life in Spain following his move from Tottenham, the Wales international has suffered from persistent calf injuries.
Bale has been linked with a summer exit, with Manchester United and Spurs interested in the winger.
