Kemi Olunloyo, a Nigerian popular investigative journalist, has shed more light about the death of Patrick Fakoya, a former housemate on the Big Brother Naija reality show 3.
Ms Olunloyo in her submission we saw on her verified facebook page said the reality star died in a single drunk driving car crash, and he died in Evercare not Doren Hospital as popularly circulated.
Read below her post:
RICO SWAVEY DIED IN A SINGLE DRUNK DRIVING CAR CRASH. HIS CAR HIT THE MEDIAN AND SOMERSAULTED
DOREN SPECIALIST HOSPITAL has exclusively released a statement to me before the rest of the media. It is going on letterhead shortly and will be signed by the MD. I requested it ASAP. I’m not doing PR for my hospital but as a journalist and patient who had TWO emergency foot surgeries. I spoke to the medical director and another doctor.
It looks like Rico had just eaten a meal and alcohol and drove in a one car crash. We are still discussing in the Leadership Twitter live on why the family refused to QUICKLY take the referral and move him to Evercare where Rico died. #ricoswavey did NOT die at Doren hospital Ajah (left) but at Evercare hospital’s ICU in the area as pictured (right) Doren also has an ICU.
Many false narratives flying on social media. He was never in LUTH. @gbenga_omo the Lagos state spokesman is speaking about building new hospitals and hostels for doctors. He also said the new ambulances are from America with trained personnel The media also needs to tell the public details of the accident. They DID NOT or bother to investigate. Rico lived for 3 days but Alex did not announce any details. His friend Miss Ify Eze is being investigated for posting the video online because the nurses may decide to sue. They were defamed. The Good Samaritan laughing is gone.
I will do a LIVE VIDEO SHORTLY. PLS DONT DRINK AND DRIVE#ripricoswavey
Rest in power Rico. One of my favorite Instagram followers. May God receive you in his arms
