From the reports online it seems like Nigeria’s aviation industry the next most rotten in Nigeria after probably the Electricity industry. A lot of Nigerians took to Kemi Olunloyo’s comment section to air out their views following the journalist’s post of how the airline treated her and her American-born son on their back to Lagos after their Abuja visit.
The investigative journalist wrote:
AFTER RUNNING A MILE TO MY AERO ✈️ FLIGHT
After running almost two miles to catch the plane after being deliberately delayed, something I should have been taken in a bus too. I addressed passengers on the plane to KNOW their civil rights. I told my son to keep running to find the plane so that it doesn’t leave us behind. All because two FAAN officials abused their power.
I am very SICK and TRAUMATIZED RIGHT NOW. Goodnight. Thank you Abuja fans. I lectured the entire plane not to take insults or keep quiet and always FIGHT BACK. Our tickets were business class N200K. Aero is not at fault. They were victims too. Their boarding staff were also threatened by the FAAN official.
Everyone must Fight the Power in this country ‼️I stood up to SARS and will continue to stand up for my rights in Nigeria. Stop asking people to fight for you in this country. Start to defend yourself and your integrity. 2023 is going to start another cycle of bad governance. I have asked my lawyer to get FAAN to launch an investigation. Messaged FFK last night to look and he simply wrote “This is terrible “ a former aviation minister. You must continue fighting the power🇳🇬😡

favoured_cindy wrote – Aero can’t be the best airline in Nigeria, their second name is “cancellation of flights “ 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Thank you ma for enlightening us.
el_sharon wrote – There’s something wrong with Nnamdi Azikiwe airport. All the staffs there are peculiarly arrogant. Even the last time I went to drop my mom there and help her board a flight, one of the ticketing staffs tried to disrespect her and I told him ‘this is my mother, and me I’m mad, I will finish you here if you try it and I’ll simply go and buy another airline ticket for her’
shalyclassic wrote – It’s so annoying, this happened to me in 2019. I was selected by the french embassy to represent Nigeria on a very important youth program in France(all expense paid trip)My boarding time was 10:55, I got to the airport at 9pm and this only begotten son of devil at the Abuja airport stopped me, told me I was late and can’t board… I cried my eyes off, begging them and all but one of the who was d head refused while his fellow colleagues were asking him to allow me so they can check me in and close he insisted I won’t board that plane… that’s how I missed that flight, paid for a new ticket to travel the next day… it was truly a traumatizing experience. I wish I saw this post before then @kemiolunloyo I would have stood up for my right and challenged them.@instablog9ja @gossipmillnaija

And the list goes on and on in her comment section.
Lots of Nigerian also took the opportunity to lament the dehumanising way their are treated by FAAN (Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria), see here
Kemi Olunloyo shared another disturbing video on how she was left to struggle to identify the airbus that will convey her and her son to Lagos. Almost turned a diplomatic issue before the right thing was done. See her tweet below:
Also watch the journalist give a quick lecture on how Nigerians must fight for their right and not allow the slave trade mentality
