Arsenal have confirmed Henrikh Mkhitaryan has joined Roma on a permanent basis after last year’s loan.
Mkhitaryan has joined Roma on a permanent basis after spending the 2019/20 campaign on loan there.
The Armenian joined the Gunners in a swap deal from Manchester United involving Alexis Sanchez in January 2018 and had one full season with the Gunners in 2018/19.
“Everyone at Arsenal thanks Micki for his contribution to the club and wishes him all the best for his future with Roma,” Arsenal said in a club statement.
The 31-year-old Armenia midfielder leaves Arsenal having scored nine goals in 59 appearances, and could be one of several players to depart the Emirates this summer as Mikel Arteta aims to refresh his squad.
Mkhitaryan becomes Roma’s second signing from the Premier League this summer, with Chelsea winger Pedro also having moved to the Italian capital.
