Atiku Finally Speaks On The Purported Plan To Unseat Secondus

A former Vice President and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said he is only interested in peace and stability of the party.

The PDP chieftain said this in response to speculations that he plots to remove Uche Secondus, the party’s National Chairman fueled by his recent meeting with Rivers governor, Nyesom Wike.

In a statement by Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, the former vice-president said his meeting with the Rivers governor was to reconcile aggrieved members of the party and not to sack Secondus.

He said he would not endanger the party as he is only interested in the peace and stability of the PDP.

Atiku described speculations to remove Secondus as beer parlour talk, questioning why he would be interested in doing so.

The statement revealed that Atiku had made a trip to Delta to reconcile grieving party members before he met Wike in Port Harcourt. He revealed that he had more trips to embark on.

The former vice president said he understands the PDP constitution and what the party says about tenure for party leadership.

In another development, Prince Uche Secondus, the national chairman of the PDP blamed an unidentified ‘Father Christmas’ for the rumpus in the party.

He said the ‘Father Christmas’ party chieftain desires to hijack the structure of the party for “for his disproportionately large ambition”.

The PDP chairman urged party stakeholders to respect the party constitution and approach issues dispassionately in their quest to resolve current challenges.
