Barcelona Appoints Two Backroom Staff To Join Ronald Koeman

Barcelona have appointed two new coaches to Ronald Koeman’s backroom staff.

Celtic legend Henrik Larsson and Alfred Schreuder have signed deals until 2022 after Dutch boss Koeman was appointed on a two-year contract earlier this week.

Schreuder has previously worked at Hoffenheim and was on the coaching staff at Ajax while former Swede Larsson returns to the Nou Camp, where he spent two years, winning two La Liga titles and the Champions League in 2006.

He came off the bench in the 61st minute of the decider against Arsenal with Barca trailing 1-0.

Larsson’s two assists, for Samuel Eto’o and Juliano Belle, turned the game on its head and gave the Catalans victory.

Last year the former Celtic and Manchester United forward quit as head coach of Swedish side Helsingborg two months after taking charge after receiving verbal abuse from the team’s own fans.

The La Liga giants who are looking to rebuild after their 8-2 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week, appointed Koeman on Wednesday.

Koeman, who left his role as manager of the Netherlands after two and a half years, signed a two-year-deal with Barca and replaced sacked Quique Setien on Monday after he presided over the club’s worst defeat ever in European competition.
