The Government of Benue state has filed a lawsuit against the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore over the increasing deadly attacks on residents of the state by suspected herdsmen.
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue who announced this yesterday April 30th while speaking to newsmen in the state house, said the inaction of the leadership of the herdsmen association, is responsible for the widespread murder and violence witnessed across 14 out of the 23 local councils of the state.
The implementation of the anti-open grazing law in Benue has been greeted by a series of attacks on some communities in the state, with several lives lost since the beginning of 2018. The herdsmen have kicked against the policy.
