A recent court hearing for Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive, ended in delay after Justice Emeka Nwite was absent from the Federal High Court in Abuja due to a seminar.
Gambaryan’s bail application, initially scheduled for decision on Wednesday, has been rescheduled for October 11.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) opposed Gambaryan’s bail request, citing adequate medical care provided by the Nigerian Correctional Service. EFCC lawyer Ekele Iheanacho argued that Gambaryan’s health condition wasn’t severe, backed by reports from several hospitals, including the State House Clinic.
However, Gambaryan’s counsel, Mark Mordi, countered that his client’s medical reports showed a need for care, emphasizing that Nigeria lacks adequate facilities to manage his condition.
