Chelsea Has Confirmed The Departures Of Five Players

Chelsea has released five players, as well as striker Gonzalo Higuain, despite their imminent transfer ban.

Despite their inability to sign players, the Blues have let some top talent to leave the club this summer.

Gary Cahill, club captain for the past two years, has left the Blues after seven-and-a-half years of service.

He played 291 times for the club and won eight major trophies.

The west London club have also decided not to extend Gonzalo Higuain’s loan deal and he will return to Juventus to be reunited with Sarri in Turin.

Goalkeeper Rob Green’s contract has not been renewed and the 39-year-old has announced his retirement from the game.

Another gloveman, Eduardo, who spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, has also called time in his Stamford Bridge career.

Having been part of Portugal’s triumphant Euro 2016 squad, he joined Chelsea on a one-year contract following two seasons with Dinamo Zagreb.

USA Under-20 international Kyle Scott is the fifth player to depart Chelsea.

He made his one and only Blues appearance as a substitute for the last half-hour of a 4-0 FA Cup win over Hull in February 2018.
