The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has honored the memory of Assistant Superintendent Aminu Sahabi Salisu, who was fatally attacked while on duty in Anambra State on January 17, 2025.
The EFCC has named the administrative block of its Academy in Karu, Abuja after Salisu, as disclosed by EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, during the Annual Rewards and Recognition Ceremony held on January 25, 2025.¹ ²
Aminu Salisu’s death was met with deep sorrow by the EFCC, and the suspect, Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, an alleged internet fraudster, has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command. The EFCC Chairman emphasized that Salisu paid the supreme price in service to the nation, and his memory should be kept alive.
During the ceremony, 36 officers of the Commission were rewarded in different categories, including:
– Section with Highest Recovery
– Section with Highest Conviction
– Lawyer with Highest Conviction
– Best Departmental Staff
– Best Zonal Directorate
– Staff of the Year
Chief Superintendent CSE Alvan Gurumnaan emerged as the Staff Member of the Year, while the Sokoto Zonal Directorate was recognized as the Best Directorate of the Year.
