Flood Kills Eight In Niger State

The Niger State Police Command in Niger State says eight persons have died as a result of a heavy downpour in Rafin-Gora village in Kontagora Local Government Area of the state.

Alhaji Dibal Yakadi, the Police Commissioner,  told the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna on Monday that two bodies of the victims had been recovered.

Yakadi said that the deceased were washed away by the flood from the heavy rain which occurred on Monday evening. He added that the search and rescue operation was ongoing to recover the remaining missing bodies.
