Millions have been lost in Naira after properties were destroyed in a clash between Yoruba and Hausa communities in the Sabo area of Akure, Ondo state yesterday April 22nd.

Going by reports, trouble started when the followers of a Yoruba masquerade attempted to disrupt the business activities of Hausa grocery traders along Old garage road when their masquerade was moving around.

This was resisted by the Hausas who engaged the masquerade followers in a heated argument that soon degenerated into a fight. Soon after, some properties including cars, motorcycles and other valuables were set on fire.
