The National Working Committee of the APC approved the nomination of Alhaji Waziri Bulama from Borno State as the National Secretary of the party. His nomination followed the endorsement of leaders from the North-East zone of the APC.
However at the meeting, the National Vice Chairman North East, Alhaji Mustapha Salihu disagreed with his colleagues from the North East who voted massively for Alhaji Bulama as the National Secretary.
He argued that Yobe state should retain the seat but he was the lone voice. Unfortunately, he lost his temper when his colleagues from the zone disagreed with him.
However, after voting, the North East NWC members voted massively for Bulama.
After the meeting, angry Mustapha addressed the media, deviating from the issue on ground, and casting aspersion on the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Oshiomhole.
Therefore, the public should disregard the purported claim by Mustapha that the National Chairman has been removed by a court. That careless statement is untrue and it was made after he was defeated by majority of the members from the North East as regards the issue of National Secretary of the APC.
