HQ Trivia And Vine Co-founder Dies Of Drug Overdose

HQ Trivia and Vine co-founder, Colin Kroll, is dead. He died of an overdose at the age of 35 after he was found unresponsive at his Manhattan apartment early Sunday.

Though a spokesperson from the New York Police Department said they were awaiting results of the medical examiner’s report to determine cause of death, however he confirmed that drugs appeared to be involved.

The Vine video app and the HQ Trivia game co-founder was found unresponsive in his SoHo residence and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS staff, after officers from the New York Police Department responded at 12:18 a.m. to a call by Kroll’s girlfriend early Sunday who was concerned about him.

TMZ reported that the HQ Trivia and Vine co-founder was surrounded by drug paraphernalia. Kroll’s latest venture was HQ Trivia, a viral hit live game that doles out real cash to players, which he co-founded with Rus Yusupov. Kroll and Yusupov also were two of the founders of Vine, the six-second video app acquired by Twitter in 2012 — which then shut down Vine about four years later. In 2014, Vine was a recipient of Variety‘s Breakthrough in Technology Awards.
