All seems set for Jesse Lingard to be rewarded with a new Manchester United contract worth £100,000-a-week, according to new reports.
England international Lingard is enjoying a fine season at Old Trafford, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 38 appearances. Jose Mourinho has often heaped praise on Lingard and, according to reports, the academy graduate is now in line for a new deal.
Lingard signed a new bumper contract less than a year ago but United are ready to reward him with another pay hike which will see him earn around £100k-a-week. The 25-year-old has been at United for almost two decades – he joined the club’s illustrious academy at the age of seven and made his first-team debut under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011.
Lingard came on as a late substitute in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool. Marcus Rashford’s first-half brace secured the win despite Eric Bailly’s own goal after the break.
