Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has just been conferred with the First Black History Month National Black Excellence and Exceptional African Leadership Award 2018.
The award was given to the president at the Council Chambers in Abuja by Martin Luther King’s junior family. This is as Vanguard wrote.
Present at the ceremony include Mrs Naomi Barbara King, Amb Erika Bennett, Special Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, Hon Abike Dabiri, Mr. Baba Onabanjo and others.
Speaking after the conferment of the award, Buhari promised that the present administration will remain loyal and stand by the ideals of the renowned American activist.
The family’s matriarch, Doctor Naomi Barbara King, called on Nigerians to continue to pray for peace and strive to eradicate corruption in order to be a major player on the global stage.
