The death of the make-up artist based in Enugu, Ijeoma Nweke, has remained a topic of discussion among many Nigerians as they demand justice to serve as a deterrent to others.
Ijeoma Nweke had gone missing in November 2020 after being called for a makeup job in an undisclosed location.
After several months of investigation, two siblings of the deceased, Ifezue Chiamaka and Ifezue Emeka, were arraigned on Thursday, 4th February, for the alleged murder of Ijeoma Nweke, at the Enugu State Magistrate Court.
Chiamaka had conspired with her brother to kill Ijeoma, a graduate of Imo University, for “having an affair with her boyfriend.”
While suspecting foul play, Ijeoma immediately messaged a close friend with her phone before drinking a poisonous substance.
Her siblings were also alleged to have poured her a substance believed to be acid.
Kemifilani gathered an eyewitness during the hearing of the case on told the court that he saw Chaimaka’s brother allegedly pouring acid on the deceased’s body after they dumped her corpse at the Maryland axis of Enugu Metropolis.
An emotional scene at the court saw the mother of Ijeoma wailing and shouting as she asked for the whereabouts of her daughter Ijeoma.
