Killers Of Nasarawa Monarch, Arrested, Including An Immigration Officer

The suspected killers of a traditional ruler, Amos Ubere, and an immigration officer, Salisu Maku, have been apprehended.

The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, who revealed this to newsmen immediately after inspecting work progress at the mobile police training school in the state, said the suspects confessed to the crime.

He said, “The suspected kidnappers and killers of a traditional ruler, Amos Ubere, and an immigration officer, Salisu Maku, have been arrested and have since made confessional statements.”

According to him, the killers of the traditional ruler at Odu village, Udege, in Nasarawa Local Government Area, were arrested by the police in the state.

He said the government would not rest on its oars until it got rid of criminal elements in the state.

He, however, urged members of the public to support the government as well as the local vigilantes with information that could assist in tackling insecurity.

Our correspondent had reported that Ubere and Salisu, a nephew of a former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, were recently killed by gunmen.

Salisu, who was a Superintendent of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Nasarawa State, was killed on July 14, while the village head was killed on July 31, 2020.
