Leeds United Boss Marcelo Bielsa Touted As Next Man Utd Manager

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa led his side back into the Premier League after a 16-year absence last season and has since overseen a narrow defeat to Liverpool and battling win over Fulham.

Those results, coupled with Manchester United’s defeat at home to Crystal Palace, have led former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino to speculate whether they need to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the Argentine icon.

While on talkSPORT, Cascarino said: “I think Solskjaer got a lot wrong yesterday because he should have made changes a lot earlier. There was no urgency.

“I was watching Leeds in the earlier game, and then watching Man United at 5:30pm, and I was thinking, ‘maybe United do need something different’. Not players, but maybe they need Bielsa.

“I’m looking at Man United and thinking they do the exact opposite of what Leeds do – they don’t take risks.

“When Ole gets it right – and he has got it right in a good few games – they are offensive and attacking and dangerous from many parts of the team. But yesterday they were laboured, sloppy and never had anything which represents Manchester United.”

But Arteta has insisted that the 23-year-old is “fine”. He said: “Kieran is fine. He had a little muscular discomfort in the last few days. “He tried today and worked in the warm-up but he wasn’t feeling comfortable today. “We believed that he was going to be fit but during the warm-up, in the last ten minutes, he said he wasn’t feeling OK.
