Liverpool ‘Furious’ As Mohamed Salah Leaves For Egypt Without Scan

Mohamed Salah’s decision to report for international duty before having a scan on his ankle has left Liverpool feeling ‘anxious’ according to Evening Standard reporter David Lynch.

The journalist has claimed the Reds asked Salah not to join up with Egypt as a result of the fact he left Anfield limping on Sunday following our victory over Manchester City, but the no.11 was keen to support his team-mates for their AFCON qualifiers against Comoros and Kenya, despite it being unlikely that he’ll be fit to play.

It is supposed that as long as he’s not going to feature, the ankle injury won’t get any worse – but it would be nice if Salah was at Melwood doing his rehab before the Crystal Palace fixture after the international break.

Andy Robertson has also pulled out of Scotland duty and according to James Pearce, is a doubt for the trip to Selhurst Park.

Liverpool are about to go into an incredibly tough run of games, so it’s vital their best XI is fit – especially at fullback and in the front-three where the drop-off is huge between the starters and the backup.

Fingers crossed, hopefully, both Salah and Robbo can recover over the next fortnight.
