Luis Suarez has pointedly taking swipe at under-fire club president Josep Bartomeu asking him to provide clarity over his future.
The Uruguay international is reported to have been deemed surplus to requirements by new head coach Ronald Koeman.
Suarez has spent the last six years at Camp Nou following his move from Liverpool and is the club’s third highest goalscorer of all-time.
The 33-year-old posted a cryptic message on Instagram on Thursday which read ‘Never forget that you are the architect of your own future’ and later gave an interview in which he demanded to be informed of Barcelona’s stance amid speculation his former club Ajax are interested in signing him.
He said: ‘’There is talk of some names that the president gave, of changes that can be made, but nobody told me that they want to do without me.
‘‘If this is the desire of the club, it would be good if the person in charge that he chooses speaks directly with me.
‘‘I have been in six years in Barsa, enough time to say what they think. Better so filter if I am one of those who want me to leave.
‘ ‘It remains to be seen. I also want the best for the club and my idea today is to continue, but if the club thinks I am expendable, I have no problem talking to those who decide.
‘‘As long as I am counted on, I want to continue contributing everything I can . I have felt the support of the people since I arrived and that also gives me a lot of strength to continue.
‘‘The competition is always good and if the coach considers that I should start from the bench, I have no problem helping with the role they give me . I think I can still contribute a lot to this. club.’
