Man Utd ‘Shocked’ After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Orders Week Off

Most at Manchester United have been left confused after manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to give everyone a week off during the international break.

United find themselves in a bit of a rut, with demoralising defeats against both Liverpool and Manchester City leaving Solskjaer’s job hanging by an ever-weakening thread.

There is obviously a lot of work to be done to turn things around at Old Trafford, but the Daily Mail report that Solskjaer has opted against keeping his players at the training ground – and has instead given everyone, staff included, a week off.

His decision is believed to have been met with real confusion by many in the dressing room, with a lot of players feeling as though the squad could have done with some extra shifts together as they look to bounce back.

As for Solskjaer, he was pictured alongside his family at Manchester airport before boarding a private jet and heading back to his hometown of Kristiansund.

A lot of United’s heavy hitters have left the club for international duty but there are plenty who remained at Carrington.

The likes of Dean Henderson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial were all preparing for extra shifts over the next two weeks but have instead been sent home for seven days for some additional rest and relaxation.

They will reconvene next week, when Solskjaer will start preparing for the trip to Watford on 20 November – a game he is expected to remain in charge of despite meeting with the club’s hierarchy after the dismal 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

The final decision on Solskjaer’s future will rest with co-chairman Joel Glazer, and as of yet, there are no indications that he will make a change in the dugout.
