This is no time to take our hygiene lightly especially in the face of a pandemic. This also should not be a case with our food. With the comments from customers and a top Nigerian journalist, it seems Mega Chicken has scored low in this aspect.
Kemi Olunloyo took recently to her social media pages to call Mega Chicken for poor sanitation practices, hygiene, and zero customer service. Some other social media users also took the opportunity to tell of their story. One said of how she almost died from food poisoning.
A customer also commented on the use of ‘Ajinomoto’ as a seasoning by the restaurant. Mega Chicken missed this colossal point when they went off to address the matter on social media. They described Kemi as an individual and spoke of her complaint as ‘yellow-page’ journalism.
This seems like a textbook case that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, should look into. Mega Chicken should address the fact that a customer nearly died after having a meal in their outlet.
Something peculiar about this report is the fact that these series of complaints come from a particular outlet of theirs in Ajah Lagos.
