Reporterswall earlier reported the re-arrest of businessman Ismaila Mustapha also known as Mompha who is standing trial for money laundering.
Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo who just recently got out of a successful surgery took time to speak on the issue.
Kemi explained that Mompha was actually at the EFCC office to pick up his seized belongings. She further explained that a judge ordered that the belongings be released as they were not laid as exhibits.
Mompha went to pick up the same when he was re-arrested.
Kemi decried this move by the anti-graft agency saying that the EFCC cannot be acting as the DSS, violating rights.
In a video she posted on social media she said that its time this stops. Watch it HERE.
I just had foot surgery and have never led a protest in Nigeria. Pls don’t make me. Dear @officialefcc STOP VIOLATING THE CIVIL RIGHTS OF CITIZENS. You are an anti graft agency whose Supervisors and Chairman have been suspended for alleged corruption. @mompha Ismaila Mustapha is in the middle of a trial and was ordered to get his seized property back. Now you are playing your gestapo game of “there’s a new charge”
THERE IS NO NEW CHARGE. We are not accepting this foolishness and violation of civil rights of MOMPHA America every citizen.
