Nigerian Immigration Deports 18 Foreigners For Having PVCs

No less than 18 foreigners have been arrested by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) over alleged possession of permanent voter cards (PVCs) in Oyo.

Isah Dansuleiman, NIS comptroller in the state who disclosed this at a sensitization program for stakeholders on the 2023 general election on Wednesday November 2, said the foreigners were arrested during a raid carried out across the state in October. They were subsequently deported.

He also urged Nigerians to report any foreigner attempting to partake in the general election. Dansuleiman said;

“No migrant, regardless of their status, should participate in the 2023 general elections, and any migrant caught in possession of voter card will face the full wrath of the law.

“Those using them know their status but use them for their selfish reasons to procure voter cards.”
