Manchester United are eyeing transfer alternatives to Jadon Sancho with Borussia Dortmund proving tricky negotiators and Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele is in their sights.
And now Paul Pogba has reportedly made a personal phone call to Dembele, begging him to join the Old Trafford club.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer first put the idea to Woodward earlier in the summer but the Frenchman refused to leave the Nou Camp.
Now with time running out, the Red Devils are attempting to revisit a deal that would see the 23-year-old move to Manchester.
They want a loan deal but do not want to pay his full £215,000-a-week wages.
But the biggest hurdle is the fact Dembele is not convinced on joining the Old Trafford outfit.
It has led to close pal and compatriot Pogba giving him a personal phone call and begging him to make the move, report Mundo Deportivo.
The two are good friends from their time together with France and the United midfielder is usually a pretty good persuader.
When Romelu Lukaku made the move to the club in 2017, he cited Pogba as one of the main reasons why.
