Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has named seven players likely to play a role for Nigeria against Brazil’s Selecao on Sunday, October 13, at the National Stadium in Singapore.
The friendly which will pair the three-time African champions against the South American giants will be the cynosure of all eyes when the encounter holds next month.
Speaking with The Nations SportingLife Nigeria, Rohr hinted that the likes of William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Jamilu Collins and the three shot-stoppers – Francis Uzoho, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Maduka Okoye that were invited will likely make the cut again.
On the other hand, the pair of Benfica’s Tyronne Ebuehi and team captain Ahmed Musa will miss out from the glamorous tie, with the former Kano Pillars star yet to play for his Saudi Arabia side since he cropped an injury against Al-Fateh on August 30 during a league fixture.
Meanwhile, Rohr will retain Glasgow Rangers forward Joe Aribo for the October 13 international friendly against Brazil but will drop fellow new boys Dennis Bonaventure and Josh Maja for the clash.
The trio made their debuts in the Super Eagles 2-2 stalemate against Ukraine at the Dnipro Arena on September 10, but the German gaffer is hoping to bring in old regulars Kenneth Omeruo, Wilfred Ndidi, Henry Onyekuru and others, to fortify his team against the Selecao.
