Super Eagles Goalkeeper Okoye Makes Rohr’s List For October Friendlies

Maduka Okoye has been called up as one of the goalkeepers for the October international friendlies between Nigeria and two other African teams.

The Super Eagles take on Ivory Coast on October 9 and the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia four days later at a yet to be named venue in Austria.

“Maduka Okoye has been included in Nigeria’s final squad. With Nigeria, he will compete against Ivory Coast (on October 9) and Tunisia (October 13). The matches will be played in Austria,” Okoye’s Dutch club, Sparta Rotterdam stated on their website.

Okoye’s only appearance for Nigeria’s senior national team was against Brazil in a friendly in 2019.

According to The PUNCH, 2019 Golden Eaglets captain, Samson Tijani, is also included in the squad for the games.

Tijani is currently on loan at TSV Hartberg from Red Bull Salzburg.
