Transfer Roundup: Napoli Reject Ronaldo, Liverpool, Chelsea Battle For Guimaraes

Napoli have been linked with Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, but the director Cristiano Giuntoli has ruled out signing the Portugal international.

Ronaldo’s future became a topic for speculation yet again after his falling out with manager Erik Ten Hag in the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspurs last week.

Reports in British media claim the Portuguese legend would be allowed to leave Old Trafford in the January transfer window, but it remains unclear where he is headed.

Liverpool are the latest side to be linked with Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes but face competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid, unless Newcastle United can convince the 24-year-old to sign a new contract.

Chelsea are looking at Inter Milan and Netherlands defender Denzel Dumfries, 26, as they try to add more depth to their right-back position, which has been weakened by an injury to 22-year-old England international Reece James.

Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool want to sign Borussia Dortmund’s 19-year-old England midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Arsenal are planning a January transfer spree and are hoping to bring in Brazilian midfielder Danilo, 21, from Palmeiras for £26m, along with 21-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, and 21-year-old Villarreal and Spain winger Yeremy Pino.
