A manual worker was rescued alive 4 days after the collapsed 7-storey building in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. (that is early hours of today)
The worker who was rescued, was immediately rushed hospital in an ambulance by emergency workers and some Rivers State government officials. It is believed that many workers are still trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed 7-storey building in Port Harcourt.
It was reported on this platform that over 60 persons – mainly construction workers – were said to have been working at the site located at Woji road in New GRA in Port Harcourt, Rivers state when the incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018.
However, around 7:30 pm, three hours after the collapse, emergency workers had rescued a total of 21 persons from the rubbles while 4 people were confirmed dead. On the other hand, Rivers State, Governor, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate arrest of the owner of the collapsed building on GRA Phase 2 in Port Harcourt.
